John Dís 1956 Catalina
1956 Yellow Jacket 14' Catalina, 1957 35 hp Johnson, 195? Tee Nee trailer. This boat is TOTALLY restored. Motor has been repainted with new decals. But, I had to replace the foot. It needs to be painted. Trailer seems as original. Boat was a "junk" that the previous owner was going to cut up and burn. Went to Illinois to get it. We paid $25 for it. Brought it home and took it completely apart. Rebuilt it from the bottom up. It is now back together. Used 3M 5200 Mahogany adhesive. New deck of Marine grade Maranti. All finishes are top of the line marine paints and varnish. It has been in 3 shows and finished top 3 in two of them. The original '56's had clear varnished birch laminated plywood. The wood was not salvageable for clear coat. It is now white/red. Red is the original bottom color. Deck is to original specs. All rotted wood was replaced with either Honduran Mahogany or White Oak. All hardware is original except bow handle. I had it custom made to original design. Boat has not been run in 3 years. But, it ran very well then. The boat and motor have covers. Trailer is from Michigan. They did not title small trailers back then. I will give clear bill of sale. New owner will have to title it in their home state. It is for pickup only. I can arrange shipping if necessary. It is now in Pass Christian, MS on the Gulf Coast.
