Peter & Chris’s Yellow Jacket
We found her on the ground along side
the road in a trailer park in April
of 2010. The original owner had passed it down to his grandson. His intent was
to restore her, but didn’t know how. He believes she is a 1955. No motor was
found. A deal was struck for $60, with the condition she could fit in the van
for the trip to her new home. Luckily she fit. Enjoy the pictorial journey of
her revival. She was relaunched in June 2010. Her name is “Juliet”. We added the bimini and a modern 30hp four stroke motor for our comfort.
It’s powerful enough to slalom ski. She’s on the water as often as our northern
Michigan weather allows and has just been invited to participate in the
outboard motor class of the 2011 Torch Lake Antique & Classic Wooden Boat
Rendezvous; Cruising for a Cure. We hope you enjoy the
pictures.
